![]() It succeeded Windows 10 (2015) and is available for free for any Windows 10 devices that meet the new Windows 11 system requirements. Windows 11 is the latest major release of Microsoft's Windows NT operating system, released on October 5, 2021. This is proven by my previous tinkering tests with adapted Win 11 versions on supposedly ancient hardware like a Thinkpad from 2013: The thing works here completely fluently with practically no difference to Windows 10.Afrikaans, Albanian, Amharic, Arabic, Armenian, Assamese, Azerbaijani, Bangla (Bangladesh), Bangla (India), Basque, Belarusian, Bosnian, Bulgarian, Catalan, Central Kurdish, Cherokee, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dari – Persian (Afghanistan), Dutch, German, Greek, English (United Kingdom), English (United States), Estonian, Finnish, Filipino, French (Canada), French (France), Galician, Georgian, Gujarati, Hausa, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Icelandic, Igbo, Indonesian, Irish, Italian, Japanese, Kannada, Kazakh, Khmer, K'iche', Kinyarwanda, Konkani, Korean, Kyrgyz, Lao, Latvian, Lithuanian, Luxembourgish, Macedonian, Malay, Malayalam, Maltese, Maori, Marathi, Mongolian, Nepali, Northern Sotho, Norwegian Bokmål, Norwegian Nynorsk, Odia, Persian (Iran), Punjabi (Gurmukhi), Punjabi (Shahmukhi), Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Portugal), Quechua, Romanian, Russian, Scottish Gaelic, Serbian (Cyrillic, Bosnia & Herzegovina), Serbian (Cyrillic, Serbia), Serbian (Latin), Sindhi (Arabic), Sinhala, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish (Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Latin American, Mexico, Panamá, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Spain, Uruguay, Venezuela), Swahili, Swedish, Tajik, Tamil, Tatar, Telugu, Thai, Tigrinya, Tswana, Turkish, Turkmen, Ukrainian, Urdu, Uyghur, Uzbek, Valencian, Vietnamese, Welsh, Wolof, Xhosa, Yoruba, Zulu But (so far) Windows 11 is basically not much more than an admittedly chic skin for Windows 10. While Windows 10 ran smoothly even on a potato with a USB-C connection, should Win 11 suddenly demand cutting-edge hardware? I would even believe that if it were a real radical new development would act. The hardware limitations also seem very arbitrary to me. It does look nice, but due to a lack of "compatible" hardware, Windows 11 will probably have to live in a VM for the time being. Okay, the (more) open Windows Store has potential, but the developers have to play their part first. Widgets and a new start menu? Wow, it's never happened before. Maybe it's due to age, but Microsoft hasn't really picked me up with its oh-so-modern modernization of Windows yet. I can't speak for either of my colleagues, but at least for me, Win 11 (so far) arouses relatively little interest - and no, that's not just mine Mac Tilt. Windows 11 and the missing Tutonaut hypeĪdmittedly, we are a bit slow here at with the current Windows 11 hype - this is also the case with this quick tutorial on WhyNotWin11. If you move the mouse over the small "i", you will get more information about what Windows 11 actually wants from you. Whether you then subsequently invest in new hardware Windows 10 stays or on one of the interesting alternatives we leave it to you alone. Of course, the last word has not yet been spoken here, but at least you can use the data to estimate whether you have a chance of the Windows 11 upgrade or not. Simply download the program from the Official GitHub page Download it and start it – the thing also runs on Windows 8, by the way :-) Now you can see at a glance which Win 11 requirements your box meets and which threaten to cause the upgrade to fail. WhyNotWin11 on Windows 11 on an incompatible virtual system - the irony is strong. ![]() The program is now also available in a German-language version and is therefore easy to use. ![]() Shortly after the extremely confusing release of the Windows 11 pre-release and Microsoft's official compatibility checker, came along Why Not Win11 an open-source program that did a much more transparent review of Windows 11 hardware requirements.
